Brightside Dairy, LLC is "picture perfect" with Patz!

Conrad and Lisa Liebergen own and operate Brightside Dairy LLC in Greenleaf, WI where they currently milk 380 cows. In 2000, they had built a freestall barn and parlor to expand the family farm from 80 cows to its current size.
Recently, the Liebergens purchased a 950 cubic foot Patz Model 2400 Twin Screw Vertical Mixer from their local Patz dealer, Schmidt Buildings and Equipment in Kaukauna, to feed their growing herd. In addition to mixing the feed ration, they use the mixer to pre-process round bales and are pleased with how it has been working. Since buying the mixer, Conrad has reported a considerable return on their investment.
"Production increased 4+ pounds of milk per day during the time of year when just maintaining production is a challenge," he stated. Their herd average is currently 26,500 pounds milk production with 3.7 butterfat and 3.0 protein.
Conrad attributes this measurable increase in production and quality of milk to the totally mixed ration that his new Patz mixer supplies. He has also noticed that the cows no longer pick through their feed, which cuts down on waste and feed costs.
"We have been working closely with our nutritionist on our rations and on challenging the mixer to handle all of our batches, including small batch sizes," Conrad said.
The Liebergens have also had a large herd specialist on Brightside Dairy who commented on the thoroughly blended ration produced by their Patz Model 2400: "I'm impressed. If there was ever a perfect mix-that is a picture perfect mix."

Due to the quick mixing time, Brightside Dairy, LLC, have been able to save money on labor costs. Plus, they have been able to save on time, and time is money in the dairy business.
