Silo Unloader Success Story - Surface Drive Silo Unloaders
Patz 98C Silo Unloader: The Preferred Replacement Unloader

Clint Brooks, right, with son Ben.
Nearing its centennial, Bud Ranch is currently owned and operated by Clint and Brenda Brooks of Homer, NY. Clint is the fourth generation on the farm since it was established in 1913 by his great-grandfather Smith Brooks. A fifth generation Brooks, Clint and Brenda’s son Ben is currently attending Cobleskill Ag & Tech, a state university in NY, where he is majoring in Agricultural Engineering.
At Bud Ranch, the milking set-up is a traditional one, with 60-70 cows in a tie stall barn. During the winter months it is nearly impossible for Clint to get the mixer wagon up the road to the barn in icy conditions, making a silo unloader an essential piece of equipment for his farm. In the past, he had been using a brand “x” silo unloader to feed his dry cows.
Recently, the time came for Clint to invest in a new unloader. Instead of opting for another brand "x", he paid a visit to his local Patz Dealer, Doug Benson of Benson Farm Equipment, Inc., in Groton, NY. With Doug's help, Clint was able find a good fit for his operation: a Patz Model 98C Surface Drive Silo Unloader. One of the reasons that Clint chose Patz over brand "x" was because the Patz unloader could easily be installed in his silo. Wisely looking to the future, Clint also obtained a preventative maintenance package to ensure that his silo unloader continues to run smoothly with no downtime.
With forty-five years of farming experience, Clint appreciates the value of time in the dairy business. Because of its fast throwing speed, his Patz Silo Unloader has given him more time to extend his focus to other areas of his operation.
The Patz Model 98C Surface Drive Silo Unloader is the first piece of Patz equipment the Brooks have ever owned, and they have not been disappointed with their investment. Stated Clint, "My new Patz Silo Unloader is a well-built, quality-made product."
The Brooks can rest assured that their Patz Dealer, Benson Farm Equipment, Inc., will continue to provide them with high-quality Patz products and superior service for years to come.
