Third generation dairy farmer Bob Hatfield lives in Lansing, NY. Burrod Farm has been in operation for 61 years and is home to Bob's 45 registered Holstein cows. Over the years, Burrod Farm has invested in durable, reliable Patz equipment for some of their feed and manure handling needs. The 200 cubic foot Patz Model 400 Stationary Vertical Mixer was a great fit for Burrod Farm and Bob has only positive comments about his purchase.
"Butterfat has increased and milk production is increasing steadily since installing the Patz mixer," states Bob. "It does a better mix than my old mixer and I can add hay to my ration now."
He has also noticed that he is saving on grain. Because of the thorough, totally mixed ration, cows are unable to sort through their feed, which results in less waste. According to Bob, he can easily measure his production and lower feed costs by monitoring how much money is left over in his checkbook each month.
