Patz Equipment Success Story

Patz Equipment Keeps Udder Chaos Running Smoothly!

Deveron Beechman and his father Jay operate Udder Chaos, a 500-cow dairy in Fremont, Michigan. In addition to the farm, the Beechmans have a milk route business.

The Beechmans began dairy farming in 1977 and in 2006 increased their herd size from 200 cows to the 500 cows they milk today. In spite of the name Udder Chaos, Deveron and Jay know how to keep their operation running smoothly and efficiently. This is accomplished in part by investing in quality, durable equipment.

Udder Chaos Farm relies on Patz for many of their feed handling needs. Five Patz Model 98C Surface Drive Silo Unloaders ensure that hard packed and frozen silage unloads quickly, even during the coldest Michigan winter months. Feeding is made easy with a 140 ft. Patz Model 8916 2-motor belt feeder.

But there’s one Patz machine that Deveron and Jay count on to get the most out of the feed they give to their cows – their 420 cu. ft. Patz Model 1100 Vertical Mixer.

"We like the mixer’s versatility," said Deveron. "It handles hay and straw really well."

The Beechmans process 30 to 40 bales of straw in their Patz Vertical Mixer each week as part of their feed ration. They have seen very good results in herd health, especially the dry cows and heifers.

The Patz Model 1100 Vertical Mixer has a simple design with few moving parts, making it a very low maintenance machine. However, Deveron knows that his local Patz Dealer, Dan Wylie of Wylie Implement Inc., provides good service and always has parts on hand should he ever need them.

Avoid the chaos of costly break downs – invest in durable, reliable Patz equipment for your operation!
