Model 320 Alley Scraper Success Story
Save 2 Hours of Time & Labor Per Day!
Mr. Adrian Ooms works his 1400 acre farm with three sons, Ron, Tim and Eric and two key employees, Keith Benson, Heavy Machine Operator, and Mike McManis, the Assistant Herdsman. Tim Ooms stated that good help was hard to find and these men were indeed key to the successful operation of their dairy farm. The Ooms family is currently milking 300 animals twice a day in a double 16 parlor.
Manure handling has always been a time consuming project on the farm and this farm was no exception. They had been spending about two hours a day cleaning the free stall area with a skid steer.
They have now installed two Patz Model 320 Alley Scrapers and are saving all that labor to clean the alleys.
Tim Ooms states, "since we have installed the Patz Scrapers the cows are cleaner than what they had been previously."
They have an end drop system with a scraped alley length of 260 feet. The reception area at the end of the free stall facility is stepped so the manure will gravity flow to the manure storage lagoon.
When Tim was asked why they had purchased Patz he stated that one big reason was the dealer, Bruce Tipple, of Twin County Farm Equipment of Mellenville, New York. What was important to him was knowing that if he needed service, Mr. Tipple would be there and fix it. His Patz dealer was important to him and the farm operation.
The Ooms farm also utilizes a Patz Model 98B Silo Unloader in a 20 x 60 silo with high moisture corn.
