Ten years ago, Richard Butts and Lorie Washuta of Youngstown, NY, bought their first horse. Lorick Stables is now home to 21 registered Friesian and Norweigian Fjord horses and a new state-of-the-art equine facility, designed for horse and employee comfort.
The building was constructed in 2004 after five years of planning. The final design included a Patz Model 400 Stable Cleaner installed by their local Patz dealer. Stalls are kept clean by shoveling manure into 18" gutters. The Patz Stable Cleaner carries the manure from the gutters to a dumpster outside the building, saving employees time and labor.
For the safety of the horses and employees, diamond plate covers are placed over the gutters after the stalls are cleaned.
